I am amazed that every week for the last few the same pattern repeats. Sunjaya is called out as one of the bottom two or three vote getters (except for that mysterious time when they called him down and said that one of the two– referring to SM — was in the top FOUR), then they send someone else home. This poor fellow must be hating life right now. Can you imagine being 17, on TV, doing a not great job every week, knowing it, getting ripped by the judges after every performance, and coming back next week to do it all again? There is such a thing as honorable resignation. Someone who loves him should explain the benefits to him. The longer he lasts the greater the chance that one of these internet practical jokes (i.e. vote for Sunjaya to make him the worst American Idol ever) takes root and maybe succeeds. That would be terrible, not just for the integrity of the show, but also for him. I just don’t think 17 year olds have the depth of experience and toughness to withstand this kind of pressure. I believe it’s massively unhealthy for him and if this continues, it could have terrible consequences.

Now, on a lighter note. Chris Sligh needs to put the glasses back on. And he should also listen to Miss Ross when she says to tease out his hair. It’s a distinguishing attribute and he should do more with it. He needs to get out of this “I want to be someone else” stage and get back to being himself. That way there’s a chance this becomes a more interesting race. I could see him retaking the lead on the male side — a position that Blake is busy abandoning with his crazy arrangements and kooky performances — and it would get a lot more interesting. He has a great voice. I wish he were willing and able to show it off more.

    I don’t think Phil Stacey is really good and we should call him the bald guy.

    Chris S took off his glasses and it looks sort of weird.

    At this point, I just feel bad for Sanjaya. Last night when he won, he didn’t even look happy walking back – instead he had a “shoot me now” look on his face. Poor kid. I agree, he should resign.

    I do think there is an internet vote for him as a joke thing…..but now he is famous for the little 13 yr old crying…and she is famous too-on the today show the next morning – she is a little strange

    I still think Sanjaya is annoying and now he looks creapy with the mustache thing going. He looks different and more rediculous each week.

    I can’t even tell if his singing is getting better or not. His goofy weird try to be sexy and hip looks are SOO distracting!!
